John K. Lopez
Founder, Chairman of the Association for Service Disabled Veterans
This past April 2012, the founder and Chairman of the Association for Service Disabled Veterans, John K. Lopez, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.
As a pioneer and advocate of the Service Disabled Veteran and Veteran Owned Business movement, next to his family, there was nothing more important to Mr. Lopez than the continuation of the Service Disabled Veteran and Veteran Owned Business movement by veterans, their families and the community at large that drive it.
While ASDV will cease to operate, we are endeavoring to transfer those resources and functions that ASDV provided the SDVOB and VOB community to appropriate and trusted organizations. We will post developments and updates immediately as we accomplish these tasks.
ASDV and Mr. Lopez's family have been strengthened and honored by the many letters, cards, notes, emails and articles from all of you with your rememberances and salutations of Mr. Lopez and his life's work. Your good will and support has helped us with our grief and warmed our own memories with your own. We cannot express our thanks enough.
